More than 20 killed in Tanzania military blasts

More than Twenty peolple have been reported died in the explosion hapened in Dar."It was panic. It was many people moving away, because it happened in the night, thousands of people moving,""People were just running, so some children were lost in the mobs of people. Now at the centers we are trying to get them connected with their relatives." The military continued to move people away from depots where munitions that haven't detonated are stored, "Even today they are telling people to get out of the area,


The Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) has announced that no soldier has been killed in Wednesday night’s explosions at Gongo la Mboto army base. A statement issued by TPDF indicates that only one soldier was injured although 20 civilians have been confirmed dead. The statement said the explosions started at around 8.20pm in one armoury before it spread to other depots. Until 4am Thursday, a total of 23 depots had been destroyed by the huge explosions. Until now the source of explosions has not been established, but TPDF said a team is to be set up to investigate. People have been warned to stay away from the camp and security increased.
